The Story of Grand Central Veterinary Hospital begins in 1987, when Dr. Richard “Bill” Goldston founded Animal Hospital of Pinellas Point, located in the Coquina Key Shopping Plaza. Dr. Goldston began Animal Hospital of Pinellas Point to serve the residents of St. Petersburg with quality and thorough pet care. Eventually the practice was taken over by Dr. Fred Nutter, who continued the practice’s traditions until it was purchased by Dr. Amy MacCallum

On December 3, 2003 Dr. A. Barbara Antz-Hanson purchased the practice from Dr. Amy MacCallum, bringing her family oriented ideals of providing quality care for dogs and cats, with compassion and consideration for the needs of the entire family. In 2018, Dr. Antz-Hanson decided she had outgrown the current building and began the search for a new location. Not wanting to stray too far from her valued patients, she decided on a home in the Historic Kenwood District near downtown St. Petersburg. This building allowed for clinic growth and the addition of new equipment to better treat your pets. With the new location came a new name, and Grand Central Veterinary Hospital was born.

On August 18, 2021, after thirty years of caring for the pets of St. Petersburg, Dr. Antz-Hanson sold Grand Central Veterinary Hospital to Dr. Claudia Zamora. Dr. Zamora strives to provide thorough, ethical, honest and compassionate care to all of her patients. She has over 20 years of experience, graduating in 2000 from the University of La Salle, Colombia and has an extensive background in Emergency and Critical Care. She is honored to continue the legacy of providing excellence in pet healthcare. Thank you to everyone who has made Grand Central Veterinary Hospital their choice for Veterinary care. We look forward to providing you with many more years of service.
